donations

Donations play a vital role in preserving and expanding a rich collection of dress. Your support helps safeguard fashion heritage, fund preservation efforts, and enable innovative research and educational programs. By contributing, you become part of a dynamic community dedicated to exploring fashion’s evolving story and inspiring the next generation of scholars, designers, and creators.

The Fashion Archive welcomes donations that will further the collecting plan to acquire dress and related objects of outstanding aesthetic quality, technical construction, and interesting provenance

With limited storage, resources, and time, we can only accept items that are in near perfect condition.

Due to the costs and time associated with accessioning, we cannot accept all offered donations. In order to ensure all proper procedures are followed, do not drop off or send items to The Fashion Archive.

acquisition committee

The Acquisition Committee is charged with approving items offered for donation. This committee convenes twice during the academic year – in the fall and spring.
